The St. Kate’s Chapter of the Progressive Librarian’s Guild and the American Library Association are teaming up for a children’s book drive December 1st through the 13th. We will be collecting picture books for a Minnesota charity called Perspectives, which works to raise awareness about chemical dependency and “stop the cycle for at-risk families and children.” This year’s theme is “Hopes and Dreams” so please visit our table on the second floor of Coeur de Catherine to donate money or books. We will have information about Perspectives as well as a bookmark with suggested titles. You can also drop off your books at one of our boxes located in the library, at the information center, or in the LIS office lounge.
We will also be having a book store event at Red Balloon Bookshop on Saturday Decemeber 10th from 5-8 pm. Buy a book for a great cause, support local bookstores, or enjoy story time!
