Join St. Kate’s PLG for the MN AIDS Walk on Sunday, May 19!

photo4606

After a good experience last year, PLG is participating in the MN AIDS Walk again!  The walk is a 6-mile walk, starting and ending in Minnehaha park, a whole lot of fun, and for a great cause!

To join the St. Kate’s MLIS MN AIDS Walk Team,

  • Head over to the MN AIDS Walk homepage
  • Under Walk, select Join a Team
  • Search for “St. Kate’s MLIS” or even just “MLIS”
  • Hit Join!

If you can’t join us but would be interested in donating, visit the St. Kate’s MLIS Team page.

Good things to know:

  • Registration is free, and you’re not required to raise a certain amount of money.  You set your own fundraising goal.
  • There is free public transit to Minnehaha Park for the walk that Sunday (and carpooling is also always an option!).
  • Prizes available!  There are fundraising incentives for the walk.
  • There’s also a run earlier that morning if faster is more your style.
  • MN AIDS Project does a lot of really good things.  Read up on it on their site.

March Meeting! 3/7/13

5 Mar

SCU PLG will be having it’s March meeting this Thursday, the 7th, in CDC room 17 from 5 – 6pm.

Bring some ideas for activities for this semester!  See you there!

Suffering from SCU PLG withdrawal? Don’t worry! We’re Back!

5 Feb

After a blissfully relaxing break (for some, we hope!), the PLG chapter is back and ready to get started.  We’re jumping right in with a mailing party – all those PLG journals have arrived and are waiting to get sent out.  Join us on Monday, February 11th, @ 5pm in MLIS room 19.  It will be a nice chance for students interested in PLG to see what it’s all about and connect with current members.  Rumor has it …. there will be pizza.  Now it’s a party!

If you can’t make it to the mailing party, SCU PLG is having the first meeting of this new semester on Thursday, February 14th, @ 5pm in MLIS room 17.  Yes, it’s Valentine’s Day, but the meeting is early enough it shouldn’t cramp your romantic dinner plans, and besides, who better to celebrate Valentine’s with than our PLG chapter?
