It’ll be here before you know it folks!  That’s right, the annual stickingittotheman celebration of the freedom to read begins this Sunday, the 30th and lasts until October 6th.  Banned Books Weeks aims to bring attention to all the books that have been censored and restricted in library settings.  The event also celebrates the fact that many attempts at censorship have been unsuccessful.  Those who enjoy the freedom to read can thank the work of classmates, teachers, community members, and most of all the librarians who work to keep materials on the shelves.

Keep checking in on the blog during the week as PLG members will be reading and posting about a banned book they have chosen to read!
